Formula for the perimeter of a rectangle = $$2(l+b)$$   ('l' means length and 'b' means breadth)

Formula for the area of a rectangle = $$s*s$$   ('l' means length and 'b' means breadth)

Let us work it out with an example:-

1.find the area and perimeter of a rectangle if the length is 12cm and breadth is 15cm..

SOLUTION:-

Area = 12*15

$$180cm^2$$

Perimeter = 2*(12+15) = 2*27 = 54cm.
